This Master Dino Cube was built by Scott Bedard of Bedard Puzzles (www.bedardpuzzles.com) and as far as I know, is only the second one that he has built and sold. Dino type cubes are my favourite type of puzzle, so when I saw that Scott was selling another Master Dino, I knew that I had to own it.
As you can see in the video, the puzzle does catch sometimes, but this is due to going too fast, and not taking care to properly align the puzzle. The puzzle is very high quality, and it came with CubeSmith (www.cubesmith.com) smooth tiles. I have not made any changes to this puzzle, so more likely than not, if I changed the tensions I could fix some of the catching, but I don't solve this cube very often anymore, as I want it to keep its value.
This method of solving is my own, and it might be a bit hard to see in the video cause my fat hands get in the way a bit, but I solve it in a layer by layer type method. I always start with the red face on all of my puzzles, so on the Master Dino, I start with the four inner pieces on the face, then match the corners up once they are in place. Then I solve the upper corners and inner pieces on the four faces below the red face, and finally I solve the inner pieces on the orange face, and finish up with the rest of the corners.
Although I think that the Edge-Pairing method might be a bit faster, I still enjoy doing it my way, as it's more instinctual for me.
I've been meaning to get that one for a while, but I've also been saving for school, which is more important to me at this point in time. :)
