Stagger Lee

I was on my way to work last Monday I think it was, I heard this on the radio in the car, I don't know who was singing that time. About two days later, I heard it again, this time it was the Isley Brothers. There it was again on Saturday this time it was Neil Diamond. So I'm afraid it was meant to be number 72 for me my friends.

The night was clear and the moon was yellow

"Stagger Lee", cried Billy
"Oh, please don't take my life
I got three little children
And a very sickly wife"

Stagger Lee shot Billy
Boy, he shot that poor boy so bad
Till the bullet cam thru Billy
And it broke the bartender's glass

hello Danny, Yes he did, the song has been done in with lots of way and names,Stagger Lee, Stagolee, Stackerlee, Stack O'Lee, Stack-a-Lee (john Hurt's was the Stack O'lee i think.)
