Muons (produced largely as byproducts of collisions between star-flung nuclei and molecules in Earth's upper atmospere) are passing though us all the time. When they kick electrons out of scintillating material hooked to a series of night vision scopes, the result is a beautiful approach to cosmic ray detection. Here is five minutes of data from 1 cm^2 of detector area. Open this link in a separate tab for musical accompaniment:) http://songza.com/z/6yhz3t. • Victor Francis Hess (24 June 1883 – 17 December 1964) was an Austrian-American physicist, and Nobel laureate in physics, discovered cosmic rays.

    Pioneering discovery

Between 1911 and 1913, Hess undertook the work that won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1936. For many years, scientists had been puzzled by the levels of ionizing radiation measured in the atmosphere.

  • @iHeartElectricalEng obviously its not collecting all of the particles, but there are different charged particles, some more pronouced and more common than other patricles, these are the ones that can be collected as a buildable charge for eventual electric power, one devices was 1000 times more powerful than a crookes tube, that equates within the range of 12 volts -100 volts, which is not bad at running most human appliances.i have made a simple scientific analysis combined with others worldwide

  • @iHeartElectricalEng yes if they are given an insulation barrier to the environment they can build up to a high charge for energy grounded to a large object like the earth which has a negative charge in reference to the cosmic background, basically a high voltage static that can be stepped down to a useable current and voltage, because most cosmic rays are going into the millions and billions of volts of acceleration levels from the sun, black hole compression, etc.tesla discovered cosmic rays

  • @boxa888 I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about when you say he made a machine that collected the energy of cosmic radiation. Cosmic radiation is an array of various particles that come to earth from space, so how exactly would he harness that energy?

His work with radiant energy dealt with radiowaves, not particles.

  • awesome video. did you know nikola tesla was the first scientist to prove that cosmic rays exist and shown this in the utilization of radiant energy patent 1901! i even built it, it actually collects the energy of cosmic rays which is pretty cool. towards the end of his life he did make a very powerful model that harness such particles that pass through all matter, and made enough energy to run as industrial power!
