Anyone remember the 5-second Ch 3 promos that ran in the mid-70s? They consisted of a very quick orchestral flourish that was a shortened version of the longer station promo theme. "Dadada dah-dah-dah da-DAHHH" is the best way I can describe it here.
Speaking of which, I'm not totally sure about this, but part of the melody used in promo #1 here sounds to me like it was inspired from "Where is the Love?" by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. Of course, these kind of instances are more familiar in radio moreso than on TV. Just a thought.
Oh, how horribly cute. "Land of the 'Three'," huh? I bet veterans' groups and the official guardians of the Star Spangled Banner just loved that! I guess that, in Connecticut, anything with a one or two had just better forget it.
Yes, I remember it well and in the mid-80's Gari Communications created "The One And Only TV 3" campaign for WFSB-TV 3 in Hartford. That's back when the anchors were Don Lark and Barbara Allen at 6 and 11, Gerry Brooks and Marlene Schneider at 5:30 and Hilton Kaderli on weather and Dave Smith on sports. The station does not make image campaigns like these anymore. Still hoping to see the 1980 version of "The Land Of The 3". One of the greats by Klein &.
Do you remember WFSB 3's 1978 slogan "The Best Things In Life Are 3"? And did WFSB 3 ever did "The One and Only TV 3" campaign since it was Washington Post owned?

It sounds like Klein & conducted promo #1, a bit much similar to WTOP-TV's (now WUSA) "Give It All You Got" campaign from the 1977-78 season.

WTKR commissioned a similar theme/slogan called "Discover the Land of the 3" in the late 1980s (I uploaded a video with the theme).
