Red lentil curry also known as daal, can be made with chicken, beef or lamb, this version is without meat and very flavourful.

  • hiya, i noticed u mentioned that it takes 15 to 20minutes to cook..i love lentils, but my lentils never cook in 15 to 20 minutes ...never ...and having done some reasearch i know that adding tomatoes early on adds to cooking time, so how does it work for you and not me , your dishes looked fabulous ...all the same

  • @honibeeblue thank you...I mostly use the red/orange lentils and I find that if you soak them in warm water for at least and hour before using them, they cook allot faster, usually the longer the better, I haven't found that issue with adding tomato's, it's the way my family has always made this dish...hope that helps.

aww thanks...i am going to get on to it right away. got the lentils soaking as i type..continue putting up some excellent grub xxx and thank you for getting back to me ....tc honey xx

  • @honibeeblue no problem, hope it works out, just as an extra thing, the longer you leave the curried lentils on a low heat the better it comes out, I have even cooked early and then just left it on for over an hour or until it's time to serve :) I also hope to be getting back to making more videos soon.

  • Very nice, thank you for the receipe, the only thing I omitted was the ginger do you have alternative, its just that I am not a ginger fan really.

  • @MadderPrinciple thank you :) you can use garlic only instead, I'm not a big ginger fan either, but alot of people like it.
