That argument holds no water.
again species is a tricky word and nobody really knows how to classify it correctly.
we won't go into the age of the earth. if you want to believe its that old, thats all you.

Not really. It is entirely new species that cannot procreate with its ancestor. And this observed happening in small amount of time cosmically (less than 100 years).
So yes the genes have drifted off sufficiently to form a new species. Extrapolate this drift further.
The drift is not stopped. There is nothing that "resets" the genes to its "original" state and these species in time, as expected, broke the species barrier.
Now extrapolate this over 50 million years.
How many new species?
