ahh thank u this does make sense.ive recently discovered butoh and really love it although sometimes it makes me go queezy cos its so gruesome, which i know is the point but i dont always like it!

sure, this is julie gillum. she has been dancing for over 40 years. this piece is inspired by butoh and ritual dance and is about julie's personal, yet universal, journey into old age. it is a deeply feminine piece that deals with fertility and the roles of women and their bodies as they age. it was really moving to watch in person. she lives in asheville nc. it you ever get a chance to see her...go.
