Qristina & Quinn at the Maple Sugar Festival (Feb.24/08) perform a set of Breton bourrres. These tunes, Fil et Bobine and Les Poules Huppees are among our favorites & are featured on our debut CD "Relative Minors", we call them "The Frenchies".
nice!...good to hear "les poules huppees" at what I assume was more like the original tempo, before Sola got ahold of it...now if only someone would post a version of it on the hurdy-gurdy!
The first tune is called "coccinelle" and was composed by Jean Blanchard on the french bagpipes. At first it was a 3 times bourrée, as well as "les poules huppées", composed by Gilles Chabenat.
Traditions are in perpetuel movement as i can see! good!

"Les poules huppées" was composed by Gilles Chabenat, a french Hurdy Gurdy player.

Les Poules Huppes - I read somewhere the name of the composer of this tune and would like to contact him, but don't know how. Can you help?
