@OffWIthTheRain Each stop can take several minutes, and in a country the size of China, with stops every several kilometers, or more in big cities, this could shave hours off a long journey.

At first I didn't realize how to deal with many boarding and deboarding points. There's a door in the bottom, everyone goes down to the train proper. The unit moves to the back of the train. When your stop is next, you go back up to the unit.
