I'm having trouble separating the dialogue here from the rather excessive background noise. So one of these guys is the one who was blown backward by the grenade in the battle scene? He's the one with good hair in the park scene? He can meet all the pretty women but can't do anything about it? Did he have his genitals blown off, while his friend had his face blown off?
@MissMael it is actually highly significant that he wants to buy a stuffed dog. it is a metaphor for the nothingness that he feels. they are a lost generation after the war and nothing is meaning full to them anymore. so the stuffed dog represents this.
