Do you work for an airline or you do you fly privately?

Pilot requires determination and in my case luck. The amount of work you do to be a pilot is nothing compared with a degree or masters degree. I've been getting knowleadge on how to fly since 10 years old by using FS95 and PPL books hehe, I tried to enter for an aerospace engineering degree but they dont offer it where I live >(, so I had to take electronics degree which gives me the freedom to work on Avionics :D. All I need know is the money to get my ATPL, in which I dont have :(.

how is there a pilot shortage? i keep hearing that everytime an airline opens up 10 spots... 200 over qualified applicants apply.

Hi,
A year ago, there was a pilot shortage. Presently, there is not, but if people don't work on training now, there will be a shortage again in the future. Every time the economy goes down, people stop going into training. Thus, a pilot shortage is created later down the road.
