PanPastels are easy to erase with any eraser on most surfaces. This videos shows some examples. You can also use erasing for subtractive / drawing techniques.

are you using wet sponges in panpastels?

@jojoptoni09 No water is involved. Both PanPastel & the Sofft Sponges used are not wet. PanPastel is dry color that works like fluid paint.
