  • I beleive this is the Los Angeles Master Chroale. They were the singers who debuted the peice since Lauridsen was their composer in residence. It sounds identical to their recording of this and Lauridsen's other works :)

  • @richs3tube It sounds very similar to a performance by The Chamber Choir Of Europe with Jorg Halubek and Nicol Matt. Even if it isn't, check out the recording anyway, it's stunning. :)

  • Amazing work -- transports me to heaven every time I hear it.

  • @oldschooldrumcorps Love your comment. It's always been my belief that the true success of a composer and/or performer is directly related to how many hearts and minds can be emotionaly touched for the betterment of the listener. Yep I think there was emotion woven into the composition, the performance and the audience with this work.

  • I would love to be inside Morten Lauridsen's mind when he creates beautiful music like this. I would love to see the view in his mind when the chords were written, to see what emotions the creative mental process taps into when writing this beautiful music. It inspires me to play better, to reach the level of performance where it's all about emotion and expression through my instrument. I gotta go practice...

  • @TheEnglishQuail It's anyones guess as to who the performers may be. Those you mention are but two of many. However, listening closely to the vocabulary I believe you can detect an English tinge. But I'm a little biased too as I think it could be any one of numerous chorale groups including Trinity College Cambridge, Kings College etc I don't think Univ of Utah are quite there yet but they are well on their way.

  • @richs3tube wouldn't be surprised if it was the sixteen. It may be Univ. Of Utah.

  • I cannot believe this composer is living in our time. Beautiful performance!

  • Stunningly beautiful, thanks! :)

  • Does anyone know what choir is performing here? Or even better, the recording from which this was taken? Any help would be appreciated...
