http://www.airamerica.com Anneli Rufus knows a thing or two about scavenging. She also knows how to write about it. Her latest book, The Scavengers' Manifesto just might be something all of us future victims of the global economic collapse might want to read. Along with her many books, he's also written for several publications, including Salon.com, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Boston Globe and as the current literary editor for the East Bay Express, an alternative weekly newspaper she's also a winner of the The Society of Professional Journalists award for excellence in journalism. We sat down with Anneli to ask her our 5 burning questions about the phenomenon that is scavenging.

  • I love her book, "Party of One".

  • What america needs is a transformation of values. We need to get beyond the materialism of today. How we're going to do it is still beyond me. I guess things will have to get really terrible

  • @mjn76 you've, liked most people, missed the point.

  • i have the book

    .

when TSHTF, everyone will be scavenging in the future

  • Having read her books, I always assumed Anneli Rufus was more level headed than this.

Many people outside of the U.S. MUST scavenge because they have NO CHOICE. Some are so poor, they must do so TO SURVIVE.

Meanwhile, American liberals, who feel enormous guilt over the prosperity of their nation, scavenge even though they don't have to. Only a lunatic would intentionally choose behave like a poor person when millions would do anything to avoid the life that Rufus appears to be proud of.
