Executive Producer Jamie Nichols presented, CELEBRATE DANCE 2007 (winner of the Lester Horton Dance Award for Festival or Series 2007) at the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale, Saturday, March 3rd 2007.
CELEBRATE DANCE 2007 presented eight companies celebrating diversity in ballet, jazz, modern, traditional and contemporary idioms in one program at the historic Alex Theatre a bevy of gifted artists guided by multiple Lester Horton Award winner Production Manager Eileen Cooley including:
Viver Brasil Dance Company enhanced with the gift of live music, Lester Horton Award winning Brazilian
Backhausdance a vibrant contemporary company, multiple award winner Jennifer Backhaus knack for reinventing movement vocabulary continues to be fresh and compelling
FUSION Dance Theater (Nuevo Flamenco) blends the traditional drama of flamenco with contemporary fire
Djanbazian Dance Company winner of multiple Lester Horton Awards, continues to beguile with new work to touch the heart with traditional dance
JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble nominated for eight 2005 Lester Horton Awards, celebrates the African American roots of the jazz tradition with powerful ensemble choreography in classic jazz dance styling anew
San Pedro City Ballet nominated for a 2005 Horton Award brings the energy of Mozarts music to the stage
TRIP Dance Theatre will take the audience Beneath The Water in Monica Favands exquisite fluid choreography recreated for the Alexs stage
