Seams! Uneven lighting! Spill! Pulling mattes through rain! You can practically hear the professional visual effects artists recoiling in horror.
This is just a quick little bit of extra material from the production of "The Luncheonette" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svgbfqJyAgs ), I thought people might like to see what the T500 is capable of by itself. This is the movie with only the video and audio captured by the Cybershot; the clips were converted to 10Mbps XviD files for editing in Liquid, and subsequently recompressed to make this file, but looking at it myself I'd say it's close enough to the originals to give you a taste of what the camera can do. Not bad for a mostly-auto point and shoot.
Update! You'll be very interested to hear (don't give me that look, I know what you're interested in hearing) that the original footage, when loaded directly in combustion--after a stop in Avisynth's DirectShowSource with a layover in the Avisynth Virtual File System--gives an absolutely immaculate matte, and lets the detail of even the fuzzy vine edges through without a problem. I suspected transcoding the footage the way I did would cause problems, but I didn't think it would make this much of a difference. A rookie mistake if ever I've made one.
Whether I'll ever get around to redoing the effects remains to be seen, as I'd probably want to redo the audio, too, and then it becomes the entire project over again. It's only been two months, I'm still fairly sick of the whole thing. Give it a bit longer and we'll see.
I'm the same way, there's no such thing as too much behind the scenes material as far as I'm concerned.
