Actually I used a bungee cord and a velcro strip, but ducktape is a good idea. There was a lot of video I couldn't use because the tripod was rattling around too much. The thing I liked most about the setup was it was easy to pivot the camera while I was riding. You just need to be extremely careful.
That was by far the biggest ride I've ever seen.
