  • i wish i could speak to a dane owner about their trainability and maintenance as a first dog ...!

  • Call a breeder...Danes are great dogs, but maybe not the best first dog because of their size. If you get one that is too-dominant, it could be overwhelming because of how powerful they are. They are mellow, even tempered, great with people/kids.They love to be w/people, but they are just huge.(Put a biscuit in the middle of your kitchen table, and my 1 year old male can reach it with his mouth standing on all fours.) It's like having two more people in the house.

    Trainable and SMART.

  • Marius - Named after Marius Petipa who was a ballet dancer, teacher, and choreographer.

Domina - Means "Lady" in Latin.

  • Wow- this is a simply sweet video shot in your own home with your own pups- some strange and unsolicited comments!!!

My pups are well behaved- but I give them puppy time to act out and get out energy too!!! You have not been "goosed" until you have been goosed by a dane!!! Cute video!!!

  • First let me address, "shadowolf", your ill founded opinion, needs to be kept to yourself. It amazes me how you can watch 1:01 of someones life and assume that you're educated enough to make such strong assumption about how they train their dogs, how they treat them and how the must entertain their guests. Youve made a complete fool of yourself and added to my entertainment. I've contacted your Villiage and Ive let them know that I found their idiot. As for Dicemaker, I love your danes!

  • @shadowolf926 -- It's sad that you can't have fun with your dogs.

  • @Dicemaker13

So you admit that letting them jump on people is wrong....yet that is all I seem to see in the video. It's funny cause at the end of the video the one dog actually grabs something off the table. That doesn't look like good training to me.

  • @shadowolf926 - You're right about not allowing my dogs to jump on anybody, it is rude.

This happens to be my wife who is playing with HER dogs in our backyard. They only do this when she invites them to do this. They do not jump on people, guests or us, at all otherwise.

I know exactly how big they are, thanks for telling me. We actually spend a LOT of time with our dogs, so don't go telling me that we don't spend much time with ours. In fact, what in this video?

    U R an ASS............

  • @handmadesince1987 my great dane is very smart, hes 5.5months old and knows sit, stay, come, down, and shake paw. When im walking him he knows to sit before we cross the street and he sits before he comes in the house. When he does something good hes rewarded and when he has to be told NO more than two times he gets a smack on the butt or I lay him on his side and hold his neck in a "bite/claw" kind of way. hes a great dog. Dont let them on any furniture/beds.

  • Thank you for sharing. Beautiful Danes. I especially enjoyed how Marius I believe stole the goods off the table... My 6 month old Dane does the same behavior, grab, dash 'n' harmless chew.

  • that happens to be my name too:)
