  • One thing I just noticed after watching this for the gazillionth time is that the auxiliaries from the toms are being routed in to the cymbal channels.

I'm guessing that since the groove being played has neither toms nor cymbals there was no need to change them?

  • @hairyarse Very observant of you. It was probably just a mistake, but as there are no toms in the groove it was never noticed. It does go to show how powerful BFD2's mixer is though. Auxiliary channels feeding auxiliary channels. What fun!

  • I know I'm going to catch hell for saying this, but - will there ever be a dumbed down version for the iPad?...

  • @theogore We've certainly thought about it, but no immediate plans, sorry.

  • So did you use acoustic drums? and just miced them all using midi? and put them into different ports and edited them individually?

    or are they triggers?

    or what?

    I'm confused.

    thanks.

and what mixer and mics did you use...

also.. is it possible.. I have a behringer mxb1002 mixer... can i hook it up to midi.. then hook the midi up to the computer?

the behringer is an audio mixer..Is this possible??

awesome video btw. I will most def. get bfd2!

  • @BAFdrummer we made recordings of acoustic drums, the recordings are stored (sampled) in the software for you to play back via midi. We used a custom Neve desk and some very nice mics.

You can't convert audio to MIDI with your Behringer. Assuming you're a drummer, you need either an electronic kit (e.g. V-Drums) or some kind of trigger-to-MIDI system (e.g. Alesis Trigger I/O) to turn your stickwork in to MIDI for the computer.

  • I need to be a my very uppermost observant when watching this as one blink of a eye and I've missed a whole load of useful stuff. :)

  • @johnnyweep59 BFD Eco should work fine in Mixcraft.

  • Hi,can i use BFD-ECO with Mixcraft 5? thanks

  • @OMERTA011 Hi, you get 8 stereo and 16 mono outputs which can be configured any way you like.

  • how much outputs can i get in cubase with this plugin? I would like to mix the drums with my own plugins (uad, waves, etc)..

    thanks

  • @Phantanima When using BFD2 as a plugin you have acces to 8 stereo and 16 mono outputs which can be configured how you like (every mixer channel in the BFD2 mixer can go to any of the outputs). Perfect for surround mixing.

  • We're running a surround system. Are there more than two outputs within the BFD2 ? We'll be using a MOTU 896HD.

    Thank you, - Kevin
