Radio Mambi (left to right: Enrique Encinosa, Ninoska Perez-Castellon and Armando Perez-Roura) criticizes recent Pres. Bush speech made on Cuba Solidarity Day (May 21, 2008).

Encinosa begins by saying that Bush's new proposal to allow Cuban families to help with Cell Phone purchases towards Cuba "debilitated" his speech. Perez-Roura agrees with Encinosa, and both believe that Pres. Bush instead should not have mentioned it and should have focused only on Cuba's political prisoners and human rights abuses.

Nevertheless, Perez-Roura tries to lay blame on Pres. Bush's advisors, but Perez-Castellon disagrees and states that Bush is directly to blame, especially because "he has not done what he SHOULD have done about Cuba" during his Presidency.

Despite the fact that all three recognize Pres. Bush's many efforts for a "free Cuba," at the end of the discussion they still seem very frustrated at the results.

Perez-Roura recalls Pres. Bush's visit in July 2006 to Little Havana where he told the President that the Cuban exile community would not accept a Raul Castro government. "Look at what has happened!" exclaims Perez-Roura as his hand taps the table.

Perez-Roura also recalls talking to Pres. Bush during his Miami visit on October 2007, then telling him, with a few months left in his administration, he was his "last hope."

The frustration with Pres. Bush's Cuba policy is revealed at the end when Ninoska Perez-Castellon explains that the US has in the past helped in overthrowing other governments, but has not done so with Cuba.

Discontent, Perez-Castellon puts it: "Others have been removed [by the US] through armed force, but with Cuba..."

We wait.
