FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE , THIS IS THE BEST, EASIEST UNDERSTOOD TECHNIQUE. Slow jets or air jets are very simple and have been around for decades and never changed.

  • @arielmanIan thats exactly right except generally 3 turns is the maximum amount of turns on an IMS on the engine side. I always assumed a Air Screw on the intake side was the same general rule but I maybe wrong.. most bikes I work on have the IMS on the engine side.

  • @thecarbdoctor

Just to make it a little clearer

If the air screw on the intake side is screwed out you LEAN out the air supply .Turning this screw in cuts off the air supply thus making it richer .EG.If air screw is out more than 1 3/4 turns for highest RPM, a smaller pilot jet should be fitted. If air screw is out less than 1 1/4 turns, a larger pilot jet should be fitted. If the mixture screw at engine side is turned out it makes the mixture richer, screwing in leans it out.

  • @DIOSpeedDemon ill see what i can do i only have a digital camera that i can record with and it's not very good quality.

  • the kart is a 100cc direct drive, they rev to up to 24,000rpm but the port timing is quite short, very wide power band, feels wierd to go from 0-70mph in one gear!

The pictured one is a disk valve (TKM- at a guess), they seem to use reed valve induction now.

On the disk valvers u had to rebuild them every couple of meetings and change ring/s every meeting or even race!

  • Thumbs up!
