The Evolution of Final Fantasy [08] Ifrit

Part 8 in a series that takes a look at the history of one of the greatest gaming franchises of all time, chronicling the many recurring themes, characters and monsters that have appeared over the years. This entry focuses on the many incarnations of the fire dude, Ifrit. Enjoy!

Notes regarding this video (please read before commenting!):

- For the entire series, I have simply gathered video footage from various sources on YouTube and compiled them together. I've done this only to entertain the many fans of Final Fantasy here on YouTube, so with that said, many thanks to all the folks who took the time to record the game footage.

- Again, for the whole series, I've focused solely on the main games. Remakes and updates of those games are featured, but I've opted to skip games like Tactics, FFX-2 and such. I had to draw the line somewhere to keep a reasonable length.

- As usual, DS video is kind of tricky to capture, so the footage for FFIII isn't direct-feed quality. I used the best I could find.

- Although not found in the original release, the extra boss fights added in the later remakes of FFIV have been included.

- Same as above, the FFX International release has some additional boss summon fights, so they are also covered.

- Finding FFXI footage without some terrible song playing throughout is tough to find, so I opted to use the opening of the avatar battle and forego the 2-hour and weapon skills.

- Yes, Ifrit is a ship in FFXII.
