  • hey bob, good question.

personally, i'd like to get comfortable with changing chords for 1/4, 8th & 16th at moderate speed say 80-110bpm, just to make sure i'm versatile with them at tempos which songs (gospel or secular) are written.

then prac the chords on an actual song i'd like to include in my repertoire.

  • When learning the major & minor chords and doing the practice exercises you propose at the of strumming with quarter notes, eight notes, and 16th notes:

To what level should I master these two lessons? Should I master them to the point where I can switch from chord to chord with perfect accuracy and at lighting speed? Or in other words, is the lesson mastered when I can perfectly switch between 1/4 notes? 1/8 notes? Or 1/16 notes (which requires lots of speed & dead on accuracy)?
