Same Jersey

It's Friday night—the big rivalry game between two Arizona high school football teams. The quarterbacks are opponents tonight, and tomorrow one of them will baptize the other into the Church of Jesus Christ.

Great Video! I was a junior on the Thatcher team and was part of this. Only problem is we lost. But don't worry, Thatcher got back at the Bulldogs this year and beat them 63-28. Go Teren!!

The school i go to is that same way. I come from Show Low and we have a dog fight with Blue RIdge every year. But i know after that game is over that i am still best friends with some of the lds guys on the team, school, and helpers. I love this video and it helps out my friends and i always remember that even thought that we come from differnt school and that our schools dislike each other that we will always still wear the same jersey even thought we don't go to the same school.

I'd never thought this could happen here at home. I'm a local here in the Gila Valley & a Thatcher Eagle Alumni. My yrs of high school consisted of who's prettier than who, better at a sport than an other... so on. It's stories like this that can help others see outside of competitive ego box. Thank you young men in this story for excellent examples of selflessness, faith, compassion & friendship.

I watched this with my family and we have close connections to the region of Safford, AZ, so we recognized the places they mentioned and it was awesome. Even ignoring the familiarity, I thought this was a really great video, well made and with a great story. I think that competition between teams is fine, but intense rivalries are bad for all parties involved. The fact that these two boys can overcome the expectations to be rivals and be brothers in the gospel of Jesus Christ is just awesome!
