@TheMightOfTheEnglish Honestly, instead of protesting these trivial amounts of foreign aid, why dont you British do something infinitely more meaningful and defund the royal family? Even if some private charities in India are getting aid, surely a penny given to a starving kid anywhere in the world is much more well spent than buying horses and champagne for a royal family.

@Mrparrot73 the army navy are also cut yet we got involved in your wars , iraq afganistan ,and libya , wasted billions, wasted lives , we havent even a aircraft carrier , the argentines are threatening over thte falklands, were not far behind greece yet this government acts as if were still in the big league , its time to get out of europe , and trade as we did world wide ,it stinks that were throwing money away when its needed here, americas going the same way

@Mrparrot73 not having a go at you or india im having a go at our government , why pay a billion to a country that could buy and sell us, thats 1 billion that could go to keeping open care homes in thE UK , its not just india but several other countries, this government says the coffers are empty they are cutting everything , making people work till 66 forcing the sick andd disabled off benefit onto the unemployment list , to save money, we havent the cash to give away anymore ,

@Mrparrot73 as for british rule in india , the empire was coming to an end anyway , it was sped up by america , not that they cared for indians rights , how could they when in1948,native americans and blacks didnt have them human rights in america. you did it and wanted the break up of empires so you,america can have access to those markets ,and thats a fact . how come that america claimed to be anti imperialist , yet were in the 19th century expanding their own territories and influence

@Mrparrot73 google british aid to india the government is giving them a billion pounds , not mickey mouse dollars, mighten seem a lot ,but in these days of massive cuts here,why give 1 billion of tax payers money to india, when india spends 20 billion a year on defense, a billion is nothing to america , but concidering the tories say the coffers are empty ,why waste a billion that could go to things needed desperately here. i never said they are dependent on us , that money is needed here

@TheMightOfTheEnglish Dude...India is not taking aid from UK, some private individuals and organisations are. Our govt cannot stop them from doing so. If someone in India decides to fly a British flag in his backyard,he has a right to do it. We cant stop him. The British live in this comfortable illusion that India's $1.7 tn economy runs on their $0.5 bn aid. Maybe I will send Bill Gates $50 and then I can say Bill Gates is dependent on me!
