If it was then the government would be theocratic and it would specifically state in our Constitution that this is a Christian nation–it does no such thing. The ideas behind the revolution were decidedly not. When you include Franklin and Jefferson, that means almost all the intellect behind the American Revolution is non-religious.

It doesn't constitute a belief system, and most atheists are actually what you would call agnostic atheist. You can't know if their is a God and that is something any atheist will say.
