Unlocking the Mystery of Life DVD-- Is life on Earth the product of purely undirected processes like time, chance and natural selection? Or, can the origin and diversity of living organisms be traced to an intelligent cause? Unlocking the Mystery of Life explores these timeless questions and presents compelling evidence to support an idea that could revolutionize scientific thought - the theory of intelligent design. Produced by Illustra Media.

GAH! Looking at the flagellum and equating the parts to man-made machines. X( The level of ignorance is astounding. Just by the spoonfeeding tone, this series was obviously designed to convince people of minimal understanding that 'God did it.' Tiny minds hard at work!! What stupid shame.

Except that's untrue. That probably won't stop you from claiming it, though.

Sure, I'm fine with that. I wasn't presuming we were talking about an old-testament god anyway. That was all totally besides the point however.

I need to clear up something I typed which might not be clear. When I say the argument doesn't have to point to God, I mean any specific god that is believed. For example, many people think that the Intelligent Design movement argues for the God of the Bible but it doesn't. You have people who are deists who believe that some intelligent cognizant "existence" exists and that may be their only stance. Anthony Flew, a former atheists who argued for years that God did not exist, was one I believe.

I meant to say, "Why would he be limited to the laws of his own creation?" Was typing too fast.

Although I do argue for God's existence, the argument doesn't have to point to God. The argument, at it's basical element, argues that the universe could not have come about by natural means. I was, in essence, answering your question with a question because your question about God is faulty. If (conditional statement) a God/Intelligent Designer/Precense exists then why would be be limited to the laws of his own creation - laws which he/she/it established?

Ah I see, my mistake. But my point still stands unanswered; your original claim was that the universe needs a cause, ergo God must have started it off. When I asked why God is exempt from this logic, your answer is pretty much 'he doesn't have to'. Can you see why I'm having an issue with it?

No, that was in reference to God being limited to his own creation. I meant to say, "I never said he was..." in referring to the prior sentence to that. Sorry for the confusion.
