Reason to avoid go-carting at IMI Motorsports in Dacono, CO:

After a brief, "mandatory safety talk" for people who have NEVER done this -- which included phrases like, "Have fun, don't worry." -- "You probably won't need your brakes." "Warm up a few laps, then you'll be feeling confident to race a little." They sent our sober bachelor party group out and the best man went down after hitting another cart (mine!) while trying to pass. He's in the hospital with broken clavicle and ribs.

  • was roger wearing a neck brace?

  • is it just me or is it normal to whip out a video camera after being in a kart crash

  • It is common sense.. you are driving in RACE karts.. IMI has always been good to everyone I know and myself.. You need brakes no matter what. If you have no experiance driving karts don't start on race ones! Go to boondocks. Either way it is YOUR risk while out there. They didn't tell you to show up that day. And I race motocross out there. ALWAYS always always take at least 2 slow laps to look at the track and lines! It is safe. I lost a good friend from that mistake last year. TAKE A SLOW LAP.

  • love IMI. 2 years ago i started out on their regular rentals which i loved so next time i went i tried their advanced rentals and eventually their shifter kart rental....now i have two of my own karts that are even faster than theirs and ive managed to stay safe even at competitive pace. never had a single problem with the staff or track itself. the guys out there have always been extremely helpful and pointed me in the right direction. its terrible when accidents happen but its always a risk.

  • Whilst at IMI yesterday, I took a nasty digger on my dirtbike after given the wrong condition of a jump.

  • @IMIMotorsports What part of "sober" did you not understand? These are NON-DRINKERS. Why would you make up a story (we all came in separate cars) rather than just train your instructors to be better at what they do? Of course it was driver error.... because we weren't instructed properly for a bunch of newbies you wanted to collect money from. Again, strongly state: Do your go-carting elsewhere anybody who sees this video!

  • Poor Roger. =(
