This is a rebuttal video of the Young Turks' video "Glenn Becks Mocks House Burning Down". As promised, I would link my sources.

"Shuster: Fire Department Should Let Glenn Beck's House Burn Down If It Ever Catches Fire"
By Noel Sheppard

The last link I didn't mention because I'm sure how accurate it is, but if it is, then it means that county rural residents are responsible for the subscription policy.

http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/real-estate/tennessee-fire-ignites-national...

According the link above, county rural residents do not want to pay extra taxes for their own fire protection service. Even if it's not true, many residents are refusing to pay when over 50% of them will default on the $500 dispatch fee and won't pay the annual $75 rural subscription fee.

  • Oh come on, Pat Gray was clearly mocking the family with a "dumb hick"/"I don't know anything" accent.

And the difference between Cranick's house and what Shuster said, is that Beck didn't actually lose anything. He was also offering up a total hypothetical to make an analogy to Beck's comments about Haiti. Not actually suggesting that Beck's house should burn down. You're taking that out of context to prove some unrelated "he should be angry at this too!!!!" point.

  • @ChasingShadows22 I didn't take anything out context. If I didn't, I wouldn't have posted the links to the story. Unlike the Young Turks, I did my homework and have given links to my sources. You can check them out and see for yourselves.

  • @CrossOverManiac, after watching the original Cenk video (which you didn't link to), I'd say the FULL Beck segment was somewhat mocking and certainly not charitable.

    What's the solution?

Put the fire out as Cenk suggests. No.

Not put the fire out as Beck suggests. No.

A make do solution is to have the owner's sign an agreement to pay outstanding back payments PLUS interest OR the cost of the call whichever is HIGHER PLUS next year's payment. Then put the fire out, not watch it burn.

  • @ZangaroZen I have already covered this. Only around 50% of the people make good and pay for their services. The five fire departments that charge per call are falling behind financially. Maybe you should fault people who can pay but absolutely refuse to or the county government for not setting up their own fire department or taxing those in the county to pay using these city fire departments.
