    Subtle? Is that a joke? I would not describe the look of this film as subtle. Garish, perhaps, but not subtle. It is not a "technique" either. And it is NOT rotoscoped. Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators trace over live-action film movement, frame by frame. In the case of this film, the footage was processed in post with a FILTER not unlike "paint daubs" in Photoshop.

    I take it you've not seen the film. Or is it simply a bit too subtle for you?

    Yes, this film certainly utilized the Rotoscope technique.

    Just because the end result is more subtle than other more well known films, doesn't mean it's a "simple, two-dollar filter ".

    um... this is NOT rotoscoping. it's a simple, two-dollar filter that makes video look even cheaper than the unprocessed image.
