Here's a rare clip from the "Beat of the Brass" Special in 1968. Had a lot of requests to show this one. Enjoy.

P.S. I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.

  • Haha I am so young but I like oldies music

  • Thank you so much for sharing your Herb Alpert videos. I, too, am a HUGE fan of Herb's--have been since I was a little kid. I play clarinet but a book of Herb's music that I play out of. To be at a Herb Alpert concert must have been an experience of a lifetime. I hope to have that same experience some day. Thanks again.

  • The song from 01:50 - 03:10 is If I Were A Rich Man, from the Broadway Play "Fiddler On The Roof" . Herb Alpert - Thanks for all the great music. You are an original.

  • what;s the name of the song being played?

  • It's a shame this great special Herb Alpert Beat Of The Brass was released only by laser disc in Japan several years ago. This is a must Herb Alpert on dvd but i think there are other priorities before its release in future. thanks a lot goochman for share with us these Gems.

  • Mis abuelos como los de Herb fueron inmigrantes,yo lo fui tambien,se lo que se siente,un merecido homenaje con este especial de tv para ellos.

  • Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Alpert

All of our families came from somewhere else. We should all return to Ellis Island

at least once to pay homage to those

    brave souls. God bless.

  • Great sequence from the TV special, a tribute

to a nation of immigrants. Great music.

  • Wow. It's been 40 years since I saw this show and I remember it vividly. Thanks for posting this.
