This guy broke new ground for jazz guitar...yet he shows such respect for the classics like this one. Take Five is a freekin' jazz standard if there ever was one!

i like this beccause he is following his inner joy and taking the risk that he might screw up or get lost. most(if not all ) jazz guitarists seem to be playing it safe by using modal substitue chord theory to get their notes. this is more like a rock or bluess solo. also note (pun inteded0 the wry smile on the sax player when soloing is handed off to him, i believe he is thinking " ok so you;ve challenged me to be real and if that's the game you want to play , im in. Emotional "playoff hockey"
