On December 2, 2008 at 5:28 pm Pacific time, Los Angeles area television stations will be conducting a DTV transition soft test.

Stations
KABC (Ch-7) [Which I'm tuned to], KCET (Ch-28), KCBS-TV (Ch-2), KPXN (Ch-30), KTLA (Ch-5), KOCE (Ch-50), KLCS (Ch-58), KSCI (Ch-18), and KNBC (Ch-4)will be participating in this test

During the 2 minute test, all analog programs on those channels will be cut off and a message displayed stating that analog broadcasting will be phased out by Feb 17, 2009 and that the TV will need a digital converter box. TVs tuned to the stations' digital channels and cable/satellite broadcast should continue to display the currently aired program.

I set up my old Magnavox TV next to my Polaroid 15" HDTV (has built in ATSC tuner) on the same antenna for comparison.

  • wtf gay quality gay video and total waste of time!!!!

  • Excellent comparison! I have my decade-old Magnavox hooked up to DirecTV, so I'm prepared for the transition in less than two months!
