If you're not already a fan of TheResident or me, this is probably not the most stimulating 4 minutes you could be having.

Let's pretend that all guns were outlawed in the US today and somehow all of the law abiding gun owners willingly gave up hundreds of millions of dollars worth of firearms and ammo.

Um....okay....so now the criminals are the only armed civilians. This doesn't seem like a working scenario for me.

Nature abhors a vacuum. We'd have firearms flowing into this country and into the hands of criminals the next day. We cannot even keep 150lb illegals out (or Cocaine & Heroin from around the globe).

Ok you didnt say anything about the other reasons on why we use guns. Hunting, target shooting. btw for all you idiots who think hunting is just a bunch of rednecks running around in the woods shooting bambi.....well your retarded. Hunting is very safe if you know how to use a gun properly. Target shooting is a the same way like skeet shooting. These are both a sport and if gun control was added then your taking away a hobby, sport, and way of life for millions of americans.

@fixdeluxe1 Sorry, didn't see your last post. When I talk to Aussies here, they seem to think that the crime rate went down? I'm not sure how that would be possible because the criminals were never affected by the law. I guess that's what happens when you combine a meaningless, emotional law with a slick marketing campaign?  It was sad to watch all those guns getting cut up. There was a Springfield '03. It was probably a family heirloom and definitely a piece of history. Now its scrap.

@rb2112002 Registration doesn't work,but you get an endorsement to your license to own a pistol,military style semi-automatic or automatic weapon(or explosives,short barrel pistols etc).
