5 Time World Karate Kickboxing Champion Anthony Amp Elmore went to Kenya in 1990 to promote his movie called The Contemporary Gladiator. Kenya inspired Elmore to follow his dreams of building African and African American relationships. After visiting Kenya Elmore spent over a decade bringing groups to Kenya. While on Safari Elmore cried tears and vowed to spend the rest of his life promoting his African mission. Also Elmore became an African designer. Elmore designed an African styled tuxedo for President Obama. The tuxedo was accepted by the White-house and President Obama sent Elmore a thank you note. Elmore created the 1st All African home in America and wrote a proposal called Memphis 21st Century that he presented to Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton. Memphis 21st Century introduce the idea of Memphis becoming the African distribution capital of the world. Elmore promotes the idea of trade between Africa and America and he has ideas how Africa can increase trade with America. Elmore desired to meet with Kenyan leaders to share his ideas.

African Americans on a Kenya Safari is one of the documentary films Elmore produced in Kenya. Elmore has spent two decades promoting African inspired cultural events and Elmore owned an operated an African Import Business. What America is looking for Africans are not producing, Elmore came to realize that both Africans and African Americans do not have any Cultural Pathways to connect with Africans and African Americans in both tourism, industry and trade. While African Americans are U.S. citizens they are family to Africa and Africans. Elmore notes,r there is a cultural divide that separates the groups. Elmore has the goal of introducing the concept of Cultural Pathways to the government of Kenya. Elmore want to ask the Kenyan government to put Cultural Pathways in place in Kenya to build and promote relationships between African and African Americans.

Elmore is interested in meeting with any African country who will listen. Elmore has strong ties in Ghana and Ethiopia but he found Kenyan leaders and Kenyan citizens to be exceptionally respective and conducive to being friendly to African Americans. Elmore notes that Kenyans in Kenya are more respective of African Americans in Kenya than African Americans are to each other in America.

The documentary of African Americans on a Kenya Safari is perhaps the first documentary of African Americans taking a Kenyan Safari. The video chronicles the entire trip of being on the long flight to Kenya from the U.S. Elmore answers questions that African American asks, like what type of food do you eat in Africa, or will you be eaten by wild animals? Elmore who had made previous trips to Kenya knew exactly how to plan the perfect trip to Kenya. While Kenya is a tourist destination, African Americans have a totally different psyche about Africa than Whites, Europeans and other Ethnic groups who travel to Kenya.

African Americans spend 44 billion a year on travel, but most African Americans have never traveled to Africa to see the ancestry lands of their forefathers and mothers. African Americans have a culture within the culture of America. While African Americans are Americans there are African American cultural events and ways of promoting to African Americans. While Kenya is a great tourist destination, Kenya nor any African country has created Cultural Pathways for African Americans to travel to Africa. The most important factor that Africans miss is the fact that African Americans travel in groups 3 times more than any other groups in America. Further most African American travel is to specifically African American orientated cultural events. Kenya nor an African country has developed African American cultural events. Developing African American cultural events is the way to bring African Americans to Kenya. While the Kenyan Safari is paramount to other groups the seeing of animals is not what will attract African Americans to Kenya or any part of Africa. African Americans are culturally urban socialized and what attracts African Americans are urban oriented group cultural events. The Safari is attractive to African Americans if presented in a specifically African American cultural fashion. We call this fashion Cultural Pathways.

One writer wrote that one picture is worth a thousand words. This video gives African Americans and idea of what life is like in Kenya. This video tells a story of African Americans visiting Africa. Elmore is attempting to address the Kenyan Parliament in 2012 and share his ideas and encourage the Kenyan Government to open Cultural Pathways for African Americans to visit Kenya and enjoy great vacations and family reunions and learn the culture and history of Africa.
