So, yes, 50% more than a traditional manicure with basic polish is not a ridiculous notion. Not only that, but it is a little more costly to purchase the products and UV/LED lights that are required to complete the process. Also, the nails are completely dry when the process is done so there is no chance of smudging or chipping the shellac thus making it an easier experience for the manicurist and client.

She is suggesting to charge 50% more than a normal manicure service with basic nail polish. Polish wears off on the free edge of nails within a few days of normal hand use (quicker if you are a person who uses their hands more regularly.. secretary, journalist or any other profession that requires typing). The idea behind shellac is that it DOES last longer than traditional nail lacquer. This product stays on far longer than ANY nail product aside from having an acrylic set of nails applied.
