@BigBlackPug born...in Belgium...as youmay know, gipsies move from place to place, at leats all did at that time. he live in France all his life long but, being a gypsy, he never really felt french.

@BigBlackPug I read that he was a poor gypsy from Paris or at least living there since he was a child. What i didn't knew is that he almost dies with his wife due to a fire in his caravan. After that accident, he was no longer able to move some fingers from his left hand... incredible! One of my fav artists of all time!
