Amman, Jordan is becoming a center of medical tourism in the Arab world. A peaceful country Jordan is some times mistakenly confused with the violent places in the Middle East. Here is the interview of May Abu Hamdia, who is the CEO of HCAC a non- profit body that accreditd hospital & medical care quality in hospitals in Amman Jordan & other countries in the region. Medical Tourism in Jordan is positioned to grow due to the high quality of the health care combined with the country being a popular tourism destination. Places where patients come to Jordan are from Saudi Arabia, Muscat, Lebanon,Oman, Sudan,Ethiopia, Libya, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Palestine, Dubai, Yemen, Iraq & CIS countries. HCAC in Jordan does very much the same as what the JCI (Joint Commission International) does in the USA. HCAC standards are based on ISQua, The International Society for Quality in Health Care standards. Major hospitals in Jordan have got the HCAC & JCI certifications. These include Specialty Hospital, Jordan Hospital, & King Hussein Cancer Center.
