  • How about 70% of Black voters, which represent 95% of Obama's voting block voted Yes.How about 60% of Hispanics voted Yes.I don't see protests by these cowards at BLACK CHURCHES,or neighborhoods where Hispanics mainly live,They're the reason it passed OVERWHELMINGLY.They go after White Mormons who don't make a fuss,or go to Catholic churches and harrass old ladies. There isn't and never has been a constitutional right to marry.READ THE CONSTITUTION SOMEDAY AND STOP MAKING RIGHTS UP

  • There are the 1st and 14th amendments. It's a separation of church and state violation. Being anti-gay marriage is a religious issue for the vast majority of people. If one can't demonstrate a *reason for harm* to eliminate a right then what are you left with other than enforced religious dogma.

The 14th is equal protect of all people under the laws. Again why eliminate a right for one group of people? What's the justification again?

Typing in all caps doesn't make your points any better. lol

  • Proposition 8's success was California's greatest act for the country in it's entire existence.

  • Why do you think that is?

  • wow...wish i was there to join the march 2 years ago!!! :(

  • No, I call people bigots because they fit the definition. It is a rights struggle and a very long one for the LGBT community.

Prop 8 was losing by a significant margin in California polls until the literally millions dollars, almost entirely from Christian religious groups, poured in just a couple of months before the election. Money used to promote lies and to fear monger just enough to vote for Prop 8. It was and is shameful. Living in California, I had a front row seat to it.

  • However you break up the demographics, the majority of the California voting block voted overwhelmingly for Prop 8. 15 years ago, gay marriage wasn't even an issue. Manufacture civil rights out of whole cloth then claim they were violated. Then say everybody is a hater if they simply do not agree with your value system and viewpoint. This tactic will never win over the majority and your only salvation is through the activist courts. Incidentally, marriage is overrated, it's a 50/50 shot anyway.

  • So are you married? Are you willing to call your relationship a "civil union" if you are? Are you willing to give up property and visitation rights if work forces you to move to a different State where heterosexual marriages aren't recognized?

Note: Calling someone "out of their fucking minds" is a strong pejorative.

Also, I'm not sure that you actually get what this fight is about.

  • This is a separate but equal argument. Exactly the same argument White southerns made to justify separate racially divided lunch counters and bathrooms. Again ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court.

    Any more arguments?

  • Prop 8 did nothing to set back any socalled Gay rights..Civil Unions in California cover EVERYTHING legally that Heterosexual Marriages do.You can call yourself Married 24/7 if you want..The Word "Marriage" is only recognized in Ca as The union of a Male and Female..I hardly call that discriminating..Gays have EVERY single right as straights in Ca..Nothing is stopping you from living together as husband and wife,or whatever the term of the day is for you..You people are outta your fucking minds

  • Some nice crisp editing on this video. I thought it was presented very well.

    Peace.
