1. Plug your extra monitor in to the corresponding plug on your pc.
2. Go to your pc and right click on the desktop.
3. In the options menu select. Screen Resolution.
4. In the drop down next to "display" make sure you have select the monitor you want to be the main display.
5. Make sure it's says under the drop downs "This is currently your main display" if not check off the box that says "Make this my main display"
6. move the two icons of each screen around next to each other so they are where you want them. (I suggest leaving Monitor 2 directly to the right of monitor one just like in the video.
7. Click apply the click OK. The Screen resolutions windows should close.
8. Now you are ready to use the extended desktop feature.
9. Open any program and drag right through the right side of the screen. And it should slide right onto the second monitor.
10. Now you can have more than one window open at a time so that it is easy to watch a video and type, keep an eye on your facebook while editing pictures... etc. Anything you want to do with it really.

lol i have that laptop to. an acer aspire 5742g. do you also have to one with the i5 processor??

@JochemPwn1 Yes I have an ACER Aspire 5742-7765 intel i5 quadcore 4gb ddr3 with a 320 gb HDD. love it such a sweet laptop
