Gratuitous Space Battles Beta - Best Game Ever?

Oh my goodness, I've been following this thing for a while, and apparently it just went into beta (if you preorder the game).

AMAZING. Just watch. I dorked up the first time because I got too many fighters and so I didn't have enough pilots, so next time I tried the classic Tank/DPS combo, which worked a lot better. The cruisers are there to simply take damage from the enemy while the fighters and frigates dish out the damage.

I didn't win though, because I fucked up giving orders at the start (I think).

I won later on by retooling four of the frigates to have shield penetrating weapons, because while the DPS laser is great for ripping through hulls, it doesn't do shit against shields. As soon as the four reclassed frigates started attacking and the shields went down, the DPS lasers fucked shit up left right and centre.

Man, this is like sex in a ship sim.

That's funny, I was going to make a comparison to it in the description.

This is always what I thought EV Nova needed more of. The large fleet battles were very lacking, for some reason (in comparison to other EV games).

You lost because of a massive tachyon storm in the area. You need to run the data lines back through the power supply and reverse the polarity of your lasers to do negative infinity damage with your black hole sauce.

the easy way 2 do this is to concentrate your army up or dewon and to finish the enemy 1 at a time
