  • hey man, i did it, damn it i put it back together! lol, and i had to run in the house like three times to watch your vid. but now im running into some problems, after everything has been buttoned up, i get a light click or like a catching tick noise, but only when i turn and only sometimes. and although i was sure that my wheels and wheel were straight, now my steering wheel drives about 15 degrees counter clockwise. or about 10 o'clock position. any advice??

  • @derrick0228 well one thing that I never mentioned was that you should mark where your wheel comes off because it is quite possible to put it back on cockeyed

  • i have an almost identical truck (89 f250,5speed,4x4,tilt wheel) with the same problem but mine will work for the ACCESSORY position and the ON position but the for it to be in the ON position, the key is turned all the way forward to the START position. would replacing that part fix the problem or is it elsewhere?

  • @farmboi78 yup I would say that will MOST likely fix the problem

  • do all 91 f250 trucks have tachometers in the cluster do you know?

  • @TRUEFOOTAGE not all of them but most that Ive seen do

see all

  • You have to butcher the slider if you don't have a tilt wheel. It gets even more complicated to pull all those wires out, too. Argh! But I got it.

  • Thanks for this, i needed a how to.

  • p.s. your fix-it skills are great. your filming skills need a little improvement. :)

  • thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • if my truck no longer has acc functions how do i fix that??? i have no stereo, wipers, or windows..... at the least i can drive it now though so not to bad

  • if you tilt the wheel up all the way and take the 3/4 circlip off the center - its very easy to screw a 6-32 screw onto the tilt pins and twist them out with your vise grips - then you can slide the tilt back and you dont have to butcher the slider

  • id like to ask u how do i get that bracket out for the tilt if i do not have a tilt

  • Well, watched your video, did the repair, and got it all back together and functioning. Thanks for posting it, only thing I couldnt do is re-use the little roll pin that holds the linkage to the replacement part. (NAPA part # 655-1296). rigged it with some wire, works. Thanks again, I dont think I could've done it while filming with one hand. good job.

  • Dude, empty your ash tray.

  • put the damn camera down! other than that thanx for the info
