The ending of Caretaker was idiotic. Captain Janeway could have beam a photon torpedo with a fuse. Send her ship home and then had the array blow up after the timer has gone. Not only did she break the Prime directive and stranded her crew but she broke it for stupid reasons.

Therefore I think she deserves this ending for this episode.

I end the video with Seska talking. She makes more sense then anyone else on the ship.

  • Your accusations are flawed. Only the caretaker knows how to send voyager back home and do you think he is just going to tell them how? And even if they did managed to destroy the caretaker, it will take much longer trying to figure out how to get home. Ps. Rated 1/5

  • @johnp1199 I heard people say that it was impossible for Voyager to be sent home. If that's true then it's even worst writing then what we got now as the whole premise of Caretaker was that Captain took the moral option over the pragmatic option. Now tell me, if it was impossible, why did Janeway felt guilty in destroying it in 'Night'. Why did Seska criticised Janeway her in this episode

  • @johnp1199 If voyager couldn't get home using the array then the writers made a false moral dilemma. You can't on one hand say it's impossible and then on the other hand make a big deal over her decision to destroy it and pretending there was a moral dilemma and having crew members (and herself) disagreeing with her decision .You can't have it both ways.

If it was impossible, what we have was Janeway tormenting the voyager crew by pretending that she would have went home but chose not to

  • @johnp1199 correction Janeway tormenting the voyager crew by pretending that she could have went home but chose not to and forgot to tell the crew that it was impossible

  • very funny dude wasnt that the holodeck chakotay who mutinyed agianst janeway ? i rember the clip from where tom and tuvock where trapped in the holodeck

  • @Trek001 Agreed. Tuvok said he could have figured it out in a few hours. Maybe he could, maybe he couldn't. In the meantime, Kazon reinforcements were no doubt heading for the array. They already had to sacrifice Chakotay's ship to hold them off before. They likely wouldn't be able to hold off a Kazon attack for the amount of time required. So the choice was either allow the Kazon to capture it and no doubt use it to take advantage of the Ocampa, or destroy it.

  • @phantomdasilva It wasn't - Tuvok said that he could activate the program himself, after a few hours looking at it. Janeway blew the thing up though

  • GAAAAH! KENNETH BILLER! RUN FOR IT!!!

  • Your premise is flawed because it rides on the principal that Janeway KNEW how to send Voyager home. The Caretaker told her that he couldn't do it, that he was running out of time, and it would take far too long.
