The Shaft is a world renown cave diving site with the clearest water I have seen (150m+). A small unobtrusive circular hole in an otherwise completely normal looking cow paddock is the entrance to an amazing waterfilled world.
The cavern bells out from this tiny hole forming a dome shaped main chamber over 150m wide. On one side it plunges to depths of 85+m. Sunlight pouring through the small entrance thrusts a spectacular laser-like shaft of blue light into the dark depths. This feature gave the sinkhole its name and this video tries to concentrate on those shafts of light.
Notice the unusual way the shaft of sunlight appears to bend almost 90 degrees at end of video. We used extra mirrors to make multiple light "Shafts".
