A long westbounder with a GP35, GP40, GP40-2 and GP30 at Cove, PA. 2/21/82. Notice the smoke pouring from the stuck brake on the Frisco box--the rearend crew obviously didn't. I tried to flag 'em but the crewman was on the other side of the caboose.

  • didnt know those covered hoppers actually existed at 1:13 find them everywhere in HO lol Nice caboose what kind is that? is it one that they got from ATSF and chopped the cupola?

  • ex New Haven N-8A

  • ex. Penn Central Loco, and 3rd unit, wow looks so dark, and an ex. Penn Central boxcar at 1:20. What year was this?

  • 1982

  • If that was a stuck wheel you would hear a loud squealing noise. It looked to me like a loose or tight break shoe. A defect detector

should have picked that up. Nice tho!!!

  • You're right--I corrected it. Thanks.

  • nice video

  • @FlatBlackXtreme Or better yet the crew in the caboose would have seen it and alerted the head end via radio of the problem.

  • What happened to the 3 unit. It looks terrible

  • A caboose? I live in NY and I can remember when they used to use the caboose at the end of the train, but they haven't used them here in all of 20 years..they just have a blinking red light they attach to the last car. Thanks for the vid, it was nice to see an old caboose again lol.
