Matadors, meet your latest opponent. Actor and former Miss Panama Patricia De León is speaking out against bullfighting and urging others to stop supporting this cruel blood sport. Each year, thousands of bulls are tortured and killed in bullfights. Of course, "bullfight" is an inaccurate term for an activity in which there is very little competition between a nimble, sword-wielding matador (Spanish for "killer") and a frightened, injured, and drugged animal. In her video public service announcement (PSA) for PETA, Patricia is letting people know how bulls used in bullfights are bred to suffer and painfully die in the ring.
Before entering the bullring, bulls are intentionally debilitated in various ways: They're often drugged and deprived of food and have heavy sandbags dropped onto their backs. Handlers sometimes engage in an illegal practice called "shaving" in which a few inches of a bull's horns are sawed off to expose his nerves and impair his coordination.
You know what? with a rack like your, you don't even have to ask twice. XD
