Only that WebOS was a proprietary technology and all the APIs were restericted and not standardized.

Mozilla team has developed the needed Javascript APIs and has submitted to W3C for standardization, essentially making it open to other browser makers as well. So in time we can expect all of this functionality trickle down into Webkit, Presto and Chakra, the web layout engines for chrome, safari, opera and IE respectively.

GREAT WORK Mozilla! you deserve an applause

B2G is implemented using Javascript APIs which runs on the client side. It does not need a network connection to run. So it will work regardless of the state of the network

HTML 5 and Flash can co-exist side-by-side and complement each other.

Its not running from the web. It is built using web technologies. All of B2G is implemented using, HTML 5, CSS 3 and Javascript. Its all client-side.
