YEAY! Found a copy of Final Unity (which I don't feel guilty about since I still own my purchased copy) which comes with DOS BOX and a preconfigured dosbox.conf file with all the correct settings to support the game! WOO! It also includes a few mega-spoiler gamesaves.
Playing it again, I recall another KOTOR similarity: You travel to 3 planets, Frigis, Cymkoe 4, & Morassia, all with ancient relecs that all point you to the location of the Unity Device (Starforge).

Well, after having been raised on and having supported DOS back in 1992-95, I can tell you that even for me, someone who doesn't ask "who" when someone says EDLIN, that trying to get it to work with DOSBOX is a royal pain.
Fortunately there is a pre-configured torrent with the complete game plus DOSBOX and some suggested settings. I haven't tried it yet but will soon.

Dosbox is a bit hard to get used to, esp. if you have no experience with dos. However, once you get the hang of it, it's indispensable for playing old dos-based games.

In fact, this theme is also explored in the Starhammer science fiction series (Christopher B. Rowley) that inspired Halo.

Deanna could be useful on away teams in the game. Also, she comes up with a VERY useful and creative idea to help you during the final mission.

ok, SPOILER ALERT! Stop reading NAO!!!
in ST:AFU, you're drawn to a supreme ultimate "weapon" that was used ages ago by a long dead empire of a near dead race that once ruled many galaxies.
in SW:KOTOR, you're drawn to the Star Forge, a huge space station makes whole fleets of battleships at a time, created long ago by a race that once dominated the galaxy.
It's not enough to imply KOTOR is a ripoff of AFU but it's an interesting similar theme in both.

That's a very interesting comparison. I haven't played enough of ST:FU to see the similarities. Can you elaborate?
how do u get this to work with vista?
