Close look at a Nike Hercules Missile Guidance and Warhead (Nuclear W-31 & T-45 620 lb. High Explosive blast fragmentation) assembly. Battery site SF-88 #2
The amazing story of the Anti Air (as well as surface) missiles defense systems, equipped with nuclear warheads, built for the US Army by Western Electric, Bell Lab and Douglas Aircraft (which built the missiles). It was deployed during the cold war in US and its allies in Europe Turkey and the Far East.

The Raytheon device (1:31) is a magnetron (6.2GHz.) for the microwave link. I know, because I got hold of a guidance system like this one, and took it apart completely. Very interesting technology, essentially a completely analog computer, using delay lines for storage. It uses sub-miniature vacuum tubes (mounted inside an aluminium envelope on a heatsink) and some germanium diodes. I used some of the vacuum tubes to build a nice audio amplifier.
