The people own the spectrum not government.

To send one text message it doesn't cost them anything, literaly speaking, and they charge you 15 cents. Then tax them in such way, based on the profit margins.
Some will say "well ok, you don't have to use the cell phone if it's too expensive for you". But most of us rely on this service, just as we rely on hydro. What would you say if hydro companies raised their prices from say 7 c/kWh to 20 c/kWh. Would you say "Well if you can't afford it then don't use it?"

It is all fine and well, but this price fixing has to end, there is no competition. Nobody looks after a consumer. For example, look at the prices of text messages. They will charge you 15c per message, but what most people don't know is that control signals are used to transmit these messages from tower to tower. Basically, text messages are the cash cow of these companies, because control signals will be there regardless if people text or not.

HEY CBC! When are you going to cover the torture and murder of Canadians by government and WCB's??????????? Afraid to report on "Eugenics" because you are part of it? Keep Canadians dumb and stupid with your drivel? No social conscience? Reporters a slave to their bosses and can't report on these "crimes against humanity"? All of the above? YES!!!

@partyhouse88 Sorry but you don't see the point, and have you really looked into how much stuff you get in the American plans for what they pay. Take look and you will see that they get more for there money.

Wind mobile is junk. Tried them twice in BC and had to quit due to poor service. Sure they charge a bit less, but you get what you pay for. Canada cell phone rates are the same as in the USA so not sure what the big uproar is about???
Thanks very much. Petition signed and post shared.
